Lastnight Vincent and I took a break from the conference, and hit the Long Street Cafe and met up with a few friends, Cape Town bloggers, and the MyVideo crew.

Dave Duarte spontaneously organised a whole crew/flashmob which descended on the Long Street Cafe to to join us, including Uno de Waal who plays some vicious foosball (but had homeground advantage). Graeme Knox and Chris from Stormhoek were also there and dished out some of their latest vintages. Free wine is nice. I like free wine. If you don’t know about the Stormhoek story — they have a pretty innovative marketing strategy which involves getting the blogosphere, locally and internationally, to promote and market their wine. Very clever. I guess I’m doing that right now.

Also bumped into blogger Nikki Friedman, who I knew by name but had not met yet. Rowan Polovin, Tristan Owen and Michael Salzwedel from MyVideo.co.za, a Cape Town YouTube clone startup also pulled in. But where was Max Kaizen?

Also bumped into Cape Town friends — Porks aka Andrew Clark, Debre and Phil Barret, Marije, Rob Broster, Amy Brooke.

But nothing in life is free and I’m paying the price this morning.
