Ok there is no keeping any secrets on the blogosphere. Vincent and I are famous for being terrible at keeping things quiet. We threaten each other with violence, but it still doesn’t seem to work. We didn’t want to launch it with any fanfare or fuss because it is very raw and basic at the moment, but — hey — it works! In fact, it’s not launched :-)

What am I talking about? www.amagama.com

It’s the Mail & Guardian Online’s new blog platform for South Africans. We migrated the old blogmark users. The homepage needs way more work. It’s very rudimentary. You can look forward to a more sophistcated homepage in the coming months with tag cloud et al among other things.

It doesn’t take a rocket science to work out that we launched it on WordPress Multi-user. I mentioned it at the WAN conference here in Cape Town and then Vincent did a short, surreptitious blog on it.

The community have been amazing.

In fact, Flutter.amagama.com, made this blog post which we thought was funny and very creative… (which prompted this blog)
