We checked the database today and it shows that Amatomu.com has, at the time of writing this (wed 04/11 2pm), sent 10 235 clickthroughs in the last six days through to the South African blogosphere. This is since April 5 when we started tracking the linklove.

By my estimation it means that Amatomu should hopefully be generating at least around 50 000 clickthroughs monthly for the SA blogosphere in the first month we would have tracked activity. Hopefully this will keep growing as more bloggers join, as the search engines pick the site up properly, as the site pagerank grows, and as the site finally goes into beta state.

The amount of linklove should differ from blogger-to-blogger, obviously depending on how often you post and what you post on and what category you’re in. I have just checked my own linklove and I see I have had about 70 clickthroughs for this here blog since April 5. This is awesome to see as the whole point of Amatomu is to send barrells of traffic to the blogosphere. Tell us if you’re seeing it your blog side too!

  1. […] So thankfully I was wrong about the amount of linklove Amatomu was sending to the blogosphere. In a previous post I estimated Amatomu would send through around 50 000 clicks to the SA blogosphere in the month. Actually the site sent through double that, and in under a month. At the time of writing (Tuesday evening), the site had sent almost 112 000 clickthroughs through to local blogs since April 5, when we started tracking it (about 26 days). It’s been great to see it working, and the blogosphere getting traffic. Our main aim for Amatomu is to send through more traffic to the SA blogosphere and create a sense of community. My personal blog has received around 600 clickthroughs from amatomu, which is nice :-) There are big challenges around the corner. Splogs are starting to arrive. Also as there is more volume we need to continually relook at the interface and how we present the blog data to keep the info meaningful. We’ve received so many suggestions from the blogosphere, many of which we have implemented. A huge thanks to everyone who has sent in their bits and keep em coming. […]

  2. thanks for yr support charl… yeah the big challenge coming up is the arrival of splogs and a greater amount of generalist blogs… we gotta keep adapting the interface so that the data coming through stays meaningful…so far so good though :-)

  3. Really excited about Beta. Amatomu has sent heathly traffic to my blogs..

In a few months you will rank for every keyword in the imaginable on the search engines! Like Digg and Wiki comes up on almost every search..

I think the traffic will double each month! Good luck
