Well, well, well. We launched our first podcast. We decided to go the route of a professional broadcaster rather than hearing the untrained raspy, stuttering, coughing voices of M&G Online journalists. I think it turned out great, if I may say so. Tony Lankester is the host — he is ex-SAFM and now works for Old Mutual. He interviewed Ferial, the editor of the paper and Riaan the editor of the website — as well as a few M&G journalists who gave some interesting insights into their stories. Nice to hear a voice for a change.
The music we used for the podcast has been universally slagged off. For the record, I had everything to do with the music and actually got Tony to change it from something funky to the wet blanket, syntho, eighties beat it is now… so maybe I’ll have to raise the white flag on this one. I see Tony justifiably lays into me about it on the official M&G Online podcast blog.

So, if you want to hear it — go to www.mg.co.za/podcast and give it a try. (You don’t need an IPod to listen, just a PC or Mac with sound).

Tell me what you think!
