  Webmonkey by Wired has a special place in my heart. It was my one-stop dev resource when I used to be a coder, working in London at beeb.com in the late 90s. It's a site that's been around for ages. In fact, if it was entirely possible for a website to be older than the internet itself, then this would be it.   Came across this site while putting a presentation on networking and social media together. It's great retina candy that will get the neurons in your grey matter firing. Visualisations are something I've always been particularly interested in due to the insights they often give you. We've done a few simple visualisations around M&G Online's swarm, by Jaxon Rice, here and Vincent Maher, here.   I've been watching my servers groan and moan as my blog has been featured on the homepages of Techcrunch, Mashable, and Techmeme today -- all sites that I am a big fan of and I read regularly. My favourite magazine Wired, then also blogged about it here.   Just noticed this latest widget from Digg, called the Arc. It's a graphic representation, like their swarm, stack and BigSpy, of who is selecting what stories on Digg. Stories arrange themselves around a circle as users digg them. Stories with more diggs make thicker arcs. They also offer the Arc as a screensaver (clever).   This is funny. The New Zealand version of the well-known online Rugby Site, "Rugby Heaven" has changed its name to "Rugby Hell". I guess that is what they are going through at the moment. Like most of the world I couldn't believe they fluffed it and I was glad it was not us. It must burn them that it was all because of a forward pass.
